Christopher J.H. Wright @ Redcliff College

Christopher J.H. Wright, Director of Langham Partnership, gave the 2009 Redcliff lecture on the Bible and Mission at the Centre for the study of the Bible and Mission at Redcliff College. He spoke about the missional framework of the biblical story using a case study from the book of Jeremiah. He shows how mission is not just a part of the Bible, but what the whole Bible is about. Wright states,
"The whole Bible renders to us the Mission of God, that the Bible as a whole canon from beginning to end is a witness of God's mission through God's people, in God's world, for God's purpose which is ultimately the redemption of the whole of God's creation. And the great overarching narrative is what the Apostle Paul would have probably meant when he spoke about the whole counsel of God, the whole will and plan and purpose of God running from creation through to new creation."

What do you think? Is mission what the whole Bible is about?
